About the Role

As a Program Coordinator I on our EV-P team, you will focus on community outreach for high impact, equity focused Electric Vehicle adoption projects and programs on the Central Coast of California and beyond. The Electric Vehicle Promotion (EV-P) team conducts regular outreach at public events, in multi-family housing (MFH) settings, and through online channels. The EV-P team also offers EV purchasing assistance to priority community members to encourage EV adoption and access to financial incentives. The position is currently funded through December 31st, 2025. Continuation beyond this depends on program funding.

What you'll be doing

    • Providing personalized assistance for community members enrolled in the EV Purchase Guidance Program. Use HubSpot and other software to track participant status in the car buying process as well as applications for rebates and incentives.
    • Supporting EV Purchase Guidance program participants in staying connected through communication tools, discussion groups, and event volunteerism.
  • Community Outreach and Canvassing:
    • Coordinating, staffing, and preparing public events to educate community members on the benefits of EV ownership, incentives for EVs and charging, and how to enroll in the EV Purchase Guidance Program.
    • Participating in canvassing and other outreach programs to residents of MFH properties where charger installations are planned or completed.
    • Participating in outreach to property managers and decision-makers of MFH sites to solicit participation in charger installation programs.
    • Networking with and conducting outreach to partner organizations, auto dealerships, employers and other groups to promote EV adoption and program participation.
  • Program Deliverables, reporting, and evaluation:
    • Working with and supporting program volunteers to maximize impact and reach.
    • Tracking and reporting program data accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Providing input in team settings on program evaluation, design and implementation.
    • Participating in internal and regional team meetings and project planning.

What We're Looking For

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Outreach experience in priority communities, i.e. census designated Low Income and Disadvantaged Communities.
  • Commitment to climate action and environmental justice principles.
  • Capacity to thrive in a team environment while also being a self-starter.
  • Confidence and willingness to initiate communications with others.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Public outreach skills; professional demeanor dealing with the public, partner organizations, local leaders, and other stakeholders
  • Non-profit or other relevant community-based program coordination experience.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize between multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with detailed data and tracking systems.
  • Proficient in MS office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with electric vehicles, charging options, the EV marketplace, and relevant financial incentives in California.
  • Experience volunteering or working with volunteers in community outreach settings.
  • Client Relationship Management (CRM) software tools and reporting.
  • Experience living or working in underserved communities in California, preferably in the Central Coast.
